If you fall into one of the following groups then you can get a FREE bus pass:

Those who are over 60 |
Pensioners (men and women over the age of 60) |

Those who qualify for a mobility allowance |
People who qualify for the higher rate mobility component of Disability Living Allowance or the War Pensioners Mobility Supplement |

Those who have a disability |
Those registered deaf Those who are without speech, and can provide medical evidence Those who have a learning disability which includes significant impairment of intelligence and social functioning Those registered blind or partially sighted |

Those who have a medical reason |

Where can I travel for free?
You can travel for FREE within Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. PLUS you can also travel to the following places, outside of the county:-
- Newmarket
- Haverhill
- Saffron Walden
- Royston
- Biggleswade
- Stamford
- The Deepings
- King's Lynn
- Downham Market
When can I travel for FREE?
Bus pass holders in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough will be able to travel for free between 9.30am and the last bus of the day Monday – Friday. They will also travel for free all day at the weekend and on Bank Holidays.
If you have a pass because you are blind or partially sighted you will be able to travel free at any time within the boundary of the scheme.
Remember – when you travel on the bus you will need to show your pass and photo-card to the driver.
If you travel to a place outside of the scheme boundary you will need to pay the full fare.

The Government's 2006 Budget statement announced a new national Concessionary Bus Travel scheme which was introduced in April 2008.
The scheme allows eligible residents (over 60s and people with certain disabilities) to use their bus pass after 9.30am until the last bus Monday to Friday and all day on weekends and bank holidays in any part of England for the first time.
Here's what you need to know to be able to travel:
How do I qualify?
Bus passes are available to the groups already qualifying for a free bus pass (see the table above)
Do I need a new pass?
Yes. To travel after 31 March 2008 you will need a new-style pass.
What is different about the new pass?
The new pass is a plastic smart card, the same size as a credit card. It will be a standard national design to make it easier for bus operators all over the country to recognise. It will have your photograph printed on it.
How do I apply?
- Print off one of two application forms,click here for the over 60s (only) and click here for those applying with a disability
- Ring us on 08450 0450 500 to ask for one to be sent to you.
- Pick up a form at SCDC Cambourne offices.
You will need to send a passport-sized colour photograph with your application, and may need to send proof of entitlement.
Can I get my pass at the Post Office like I usually do?
No. The new passes have to be produced by a specialist card manufacturer and cannot be issued at the Post Office.
Where can I use my new pass?
You will be able to use the pass on any local bus journey anywhere in England.

Cambridgeshire Guided Bus

Frequency:
Buses run on the guide-way seven days a week from 6am to midnight with at least one bus every 10 minutes during peak hours.
Route:
Buses travel along the disused railway line from St Ives to the Cambridge Science Park,via Swavesey, Longstanton Westwick, Histon, Science Park or Orchard Park, avoiding the congestion on the A14. They then travel on normal roads through Cambridge city centre to the railway station.
At the railway station buses rejoin a route parallel to the railway line and travel through to Addenbrooke's and Trumpington Park & Ride away from congestion on local roads.
