Good news on plastic bottles!

From October 2008 South Cambridgeshire District Council has been collecting plastic bottles of all shapes and sizes as part of the blue bin recycling scheme. Plastic bottles will be collected along with your paper, cans, glass bottles and jars.

Which plastic bottles can you recycle?

You can put all your plastic bottles in the blue bin for recycling.

Remember! If it's bottle-shaped and made from plastic you can put it in your blue bin for recycling.

Which plastics can't you recycle?

Unfortunately there are no cost effective recycling facilities available locally at this time for other plastics such as plastic bags, yogurt pots, food trays and plastic film. Please place these items in the blue bin.

What should you do with your plastic bottles?

·          Remove tops and triggers

·          Rinse

·          Squash

·          Recycle it!

To find out when your first collection of plastic bottles will be check the calendar in the Autumn edition of the South Cambs magazine.
