Parish Action Plan
The Parish Action Plan is Longstanton wish list of actions to be considered by the Parish Council over a 10 years' period, in the short, medium and longer term.
A selection of actions will be considered every year by the parish Council prior to setting the Parish budget: this is a dynamic process dovetailing actual village needs, priorities and budget. A report on Parish Plan progress is presented every year at the Parish Annual Meeting.
Next page, 'Parish Plan Publications', consult the Parish Action Plan, pages 30 to 33 of The Longstanton Parish Plan Summary Report.
Potential actions are not all within the control and the financial means of the Parish Council. How to assess the means by which a local community could achieve some of its aims? Local Strategic Partnerships (LSP) can assist in evaluating these means.
A Local Strategic Partnership is a non-statutory body organised to bring together the public, voluntary and community sectors at local level: such partnership aims to improve the quality of life and delivery of services locally. With regards to our village Parish Plan, the remit of South Cambridgeshire Local Strategic Partnership Board is to assess actions outside Parish Council's control: this Local Partnership may recommend to the Board that actions be supported by the local authorities and various agencies, should any be selected by the Parish Council for implementation, however the County Council may form the view that issues tied up to adjacent developments are subject to complex financial and policy considerations
